    Here are some rules which have been successfully used in "Players's Tournaments." Every entrant receives a copy of "Rules of Competition" at the time of registration and instructed to read them carefully because they will be enforced. As a result of threads on this site I've added one more: 9) Thank you Idart for the input.

    1) Each Entrant must pick up their tally card and be at the board ready to begin the match within 5 minutes of the match call.

    2) Entrants will score games themselves unless someone volunteers. Do not wait for a volunteer.

    3) If a competitor is not at the board within 5 minutes of the match call you must report this to the Director.

    4) An entrant who is not at the board within 10 minutes of the match call (noted on the tally cards) will be disqualified from the tournament. The Director may take mitigating circumstances into consideration.

    5) Each match has a maximum time limit of 40 minutes. At the end of that time, at the tournament director's discretion, the match will be halted and points for games won counted. No match win bonus will be earned.

    6) Match results must be presented to the Director by both competitors within 40 minutes of the match call time (on the tally cards) under penalty of disqualification and loss of all points.
    * The Director may take mitigating circumstances into consideration.

    7) Each entrant must write only the number of games won on their tally card;

    8 Each entrant is responsible for the accuracy of their points totals before and after the totals are recorded on the Group Results Placard

    9) Any entrant who by action or sound disrupts the cordial atmosphere of the tournament will be disqualified and all points in the standings will be lost.
    * The Director may take mitigating circumstances into consideration.

    That would be a good thing to have everyone get before the start of a tournament. If they were upheld then I would believe tournaments to be more orginized and free flowing.

    The rules are posted for the North American Singles Series on the CDC web site and are read before each event is started. We encourage the five minute between matches start time and at this point we are relying on self policing with big brother watching. After all its your entry fee and if you want to win you have to play.
    Behavior, Language, and Dress Code will be enforced to the teeth. Sponsorship is the goal of my series. This translates to more $$$$$ to win but sponsors will not back pigs.

    What a great post and idea George. I think this is a great way to do it. It would work great as long as the rules were uniformly enforced.
