    Hello All,

As you may know I had a pretty severe case of... wait for it... DARTITIS.

With the help and encouragement from my local friends and my friends here on SEWA I have found a way to deal with it.

    To the point.

I have had a few weeks of great darts. Fairly consistent high scores and very little hitch. On Wednesday I had the best night of league darts I have had since all this began. Pretty strong results.

I have noticed I will have these peaks and almost immediately after have a ton of issues during practice. Not following through, little hiccups, pulling, pushing, etc.

I think my arm is still getting in shape because I have some tightness the day after league.

Do you guys typically take the day off after league, or do you have a practice routine that helps reinforce your throw without putting pressure on yourself to perform?

I breathe and relax. More to the point when I feel it happening, I decide to embrace it. I practice my relax and shoot method. If that doesn't work I also try to mimic consciously. I have noticed that I can not make myself do it.

Additionally I focus on the end of my throw instead of my overall stroke.

I also noticed that if I raise my arm into my throwing position slowly, my shoulder relaxes.

    Interesting.

I have been fighting a very slight 'hitch', more of a pause really, and I have been trying to correct it. Sometimes I ghost throw first and that seems to help but mostly I too find concentrating on the follow through helps and also, of course, makes me more accurate Wink
