As far as handicapping goes I think it should be used as a tool to grow the sport, it lets people who either don't have the time or the desire to get better play without getting slaughtered. most people that really love the sport use their handicap as a measuring stick and take pride in getting it down. That said i think sandbagging happens but not as much as people say. the same people who take advantage of the handicap are the same ones who sandbag, i think it really shows what caliber of person they are, they're the ones that manipulate their team rosters to stay down a division for leagues, throw off intentionally, play mind games and shady tactics. They are also the ones you find playing money games against obviously weaker players then leave when a better shooter shows up. I am a believer in the general goodness of people, and the dart community is no exception, my experience says that darters as whole are a really good bunch of people, as for the others who cares we know who they are and so do they.

Thanks for expanding, TheBigFella. I never went to the Medalist Worlds, so I haven't seen what happens at that level.

I was on the other end of the roll - up at Worlds in 2009, going from a 7 rated shooter to a 9 after a great run to win a Thursday AM Doubles flight. My partner shot amazingly well and kept us both inspired...she has now won a C Flight doubles title in 2008 and now a B flight doubles title in 2009. She has moved from a 2 to a 3 along the journey as well...

CDA=COMBINED DART AVERAGE, THE MOST RIDICULOUS WAY IN THE WORLD TO TRACK AVERAGES, AND BY FAR THE EASIEST TO SANDBAG IN.
