    Hey Everyone,

    If there is anyone here that is passionate about the sport of darts ,like i am, then any accomplishment is a good one.

    I recently attended and played in my first ADO Regional Qualifier in north jersey and played pretty well, took some legs off some big names didnt get shut out and finished 3rd in my bracket 2pts shy of a top 8 playoff. i had 12 pts next was 14 and 16pts.

    a few weeks later i looked on the ADO website rankings list because i was curious to see if my name was anywhere on it. and low and behold there I was at #307 i finally got to see my name listed , to me thats a big deal whether its 7 or 307 its a big confidence boost.it felt so good to see my name there and to think " what if i could make a few more tourneys what could happen "? break into top 200 ? maybe some day when i have more time and the funds.
    i honestly didnt care if i was # 700 its just being recognized for your effort .
    anybody else have the same feeling the first time listed ?

    congrats. Since I'm fairly new to darts, I too was excited to see my name pop up on the ranking list for the first time after my T4 in cricket at the 2009 Camellia Classic.

    Oh yea. It's fun to have your name mentioned. I'm #3 in my region and was at one point up to #237 or so. It was satisfying to see for sure Smile One thing I definitely did not like was the abrupt "reset everybody's points to 0" concept. If you win points at a tourney then those points should not expire until after the same tournament rolls around the following year. You should be able to click on a person and see which tourneys they need to defend their points. Anyway, just nitpicking something fairly minor. Rather have this ranking system than none!

    @CannonFodder-

    You're not the only one who thinks this way. The current ADO ranking system is like an annual money list in another sport and it's not really a ranking system. If you live in an area with most of your tournaments in the first part of the year, you're way up there, but then you start to fall unless you can travel to a ton of events.

    Golf figured this out 25+ years ago with their rolling ranking system over 2 years. And the World Golf Rankings.

    The Darts Database (www.dartsdatabase.co.uk) with their DBB Ranking (which is also the basis for the current MLD ranking system www.MLDdarts.com/ranking) uses your best 10 of your last 20 tournaments from every organization: BDO, MLD, WDF, ADO, PDC, DPA, etc, etc

    The new MLD ranking system will do something similar except events over 1 year old, the points will be cut in half and events older than 2 years will not be eligible for inclusion.
