    High guys and girls,

I'm from North/East Vicotria in Australia.

I'm 33 and been playing darts for about 3 years now.
Joined the local league just after I started and enjoyed it a lot.
We're just finishing a season up soon. Our team finished minor premiers of 2nd division and the grand final is in two weeks. Next season is our debut into A grade.... really looking forward too it.

I hope to learn a lot of stuff and get involved in some interesting topics.

    Thanks for having me....

    Hi all,

I play out of Oakville in Ontario, Canada. Been playing for about 4 years now and joined flight school before my daughter was born in 2011. Just getting back into the game competitively again and playing in a few leagues.

I use my Phil Taylor Phase 5's - 26g and love the game. Practicing for our Legion zone shoots where we play 501 DD...

Thought I should sign in LOL

Live in New Zealand. First started playing with my Father and Brother at the local club 24 years ago. Put the darts away when I went into the service and resumed playing in about 2003. Have begun playing in more competitive games the past year and am now very much full tilt. Changed from 21g to 22g (a subtle change) 3 months ago and have never thrown better. I love this game so much, and gain plenty of inspiration reading of others achievements and enjoyment.

Member here for about 8 years, and this is easily one of the friendliest and helpful sites on the web. Great job guys!

I'm back... Again. It's been so long I figured I'd introduce myself.
My name is Kiel and I now live in Missoula, Montana.

I'm 31 and in the last 10 years I have hardly thrown any darts at all, just a couple random tournaments in NZ when I've been there on holiday and a short 3 month stint playing semi serious in Australia.

Now I'm in the USA I'm trying to get back into it but there isn't a big steel tip scene where I live (that I have found). Atm I'm only playing 1 night a week of blind draw where all games are one leg. I'm going to have to try this soft tip thing out as it appears to be big in Montana.

Just got myself a set of Target Carrera C1 18gm soft tip with conversion points.

I'm hoping to travel around the place and hit some tournaments in the north west so maybe I'll run into some of you guys!

Thanks Erik, it's good to see SEWA still up and running, so many forums collapsed with the rise of facebook, it's a credit to you and the members here that SEWA is still alive and kicking!

Hi everyone. My name is Joe. I'm 44 years young. I've been darting for almost two years now. A buddy of mine introduced me to darts at a party. We were playing Tactics all night long and I've been hooked ever since. I want to improve my game so I started reading 'Darts, From Beginning to End' by George Silberzahn. Great book so far. That is where I heard about the forum as well. I look forward to learning more as I get prepared to start in my first league in September of this year.
    Happy darting,

    Hi fellow darters ,

Well ive played darts on and off

since the 70s and reason i kept at it was because i was told by quite a lot of older then darters than myself with experience in the game
in that I was one young guy whom had what it takes.. basically they were saying I had it in me to do very well in the game if I stick in ..whereas them days there wasn't many young guys played darts as vast majority went for the pool ..

Why did I enjoy the game ? Well when I received a second hand board
made from horse hair .. I just had it hung up one day in my room
and began to practice and realized I had what it took as a player ..

Then when old enough for the pubs Wink 17 yrs i was and went sneaked into odd bar where i began playing and had my name put up on the board to chalk along with the older guys awaiting their time ..I then had my own game after my turn and won with playing quite well
i won the next and the following 2 games then lost my 5th or 6th game cant call exactly today as was a long time ago ..
i should've won having a few darts at my dble the game i eventually lost i recall
then an older guy asked me to play for their club ..but they were dubious of my age i recollect

Although they also had their name up for a darts tournament in the hotel
i also put my name up and later seen i was to be playing v one of the better experienced players in the village ( One of the men i had won against in that hotel ) and i was happy with such as only like to see how i done v the best in the area ..But what happened ? Well the man had found out i was under age and not 18 yrs of age and told the owner of the hotel

whom asked me my age this being the ex sergeant of the local police force
whom i told him 18 yrs and he then asked me to bring in my birth certificate
to show the proof and so i was had for Sad ..He was a decent guy though and only was doing his rightful job in such ..But as for the darter i was to be playing it just shows although he was one of the better players in the whole league in that he was feeling wary of playing v myself ..I was seen as the Eric Bristow at the time in my region in Scotland but i reckon certainly i wasn't the Big Head of Eric although i knew i was pretty handy with the darts when hitting my A game .

Most Scots way back i recall never liked Eric Bristow as he was seen as arrogant and i personally liked the guy as found him to be funny with his wise cracks he came out with and in a way i feel all this was a put on
a put on ye as in a way i feel even to this day Bristow was acting like Muhammad Ali in being arrogant as he knew he was very good whilst at same time putting off his opponents even before they took to the oche..

I feel being arrogant is not being big headed as you have to feel good within yourself to be able to pull the good games off and ive done such often
i was best player when a team from Nairn nearbye Inverness came in a mini bus to play v a local team with one game 501 fly start way back in 1978
excuse if i have exact year wrong as was a long time ago ..but i won with a 14 dart game ..In the opposing team the guy best hit a 16 dart game and so all were at the ready for the two best on the night to play for some money

I couldn't wait although my opponent from other side a middle aged guy
approx. 40 yrs them days he would've been , i was either nearing 18 or was 18 yrs cant recall ..Anyhow when at the ready the other guy and his mates had decided to go get their mini bus for Nairn as said they would have to leave this darts match out as had to get back for home nearbye Inverness
as time was running out ..I reckon that was their excuse as simple they knew their man was second best to me and so they got off lightly in the end ..But all in all it was fun and all experience

I also one time i ventured to a nearbye town where i walked into a bar
or in fact was a bar in a hotel in another town nearbye my village
was some guys approx a dozen of them i heard chatting whilst also playing darts on the board and their voices or accents were not local for sure
they were from the Usa and in the navy on their time off .. anyhow i watched them play for a little and chatted with them and they asked me do you play darts ..i said aye ..and one of them put my name up on the board as were all playing for a drink ..Anyhow i marked first game and then i was on and boy oh boy didn't i leave all these guys in awe at my darting skills

facts are i never lost one game and by the time i left that hotel in which
wasn't my main destination as this was the nearbye ballroom after
then i walked out of the hotel half pissed to be honest ..
and then trying to act sober for the ballroom fir the burdz Laughing

Anyhow ye was good in that hotel them days i recall, reason i went back
the following week in the thinking more freebies for me Mr. Green

Anyhow i could go on about my skills on the board but have decided
to allow you guys to carry on and best of luck with yer arrows in the future
this to all the young guys and lassies and of course i aint finished just yet
fir sure ..Meantime awe the best fellow darters except when you ever play v me that is Very Happy

    _____________________________

Last but not least here is the poem i made up for myself
pretty good don't you think as im proud of such v

There's a darter fae Fife whom plays the game
and some player he is , Stevie's the name
No man sais he , shall stand in his way
there is no other when on his day

180's are easy, as dbles are so
When he stands at the oche, to put on a show
as his dart hits the bullseye , the other players pout
count 1, 2 and 3 game shot, over and out

Now come try and beat him , if you dare
but when Stevie's on fire, you better beware
    Whose No1, on Fife's golden shore's
There's only one outcome, as Stevie's dart soars Very Happy

    Cheers Erik,

Though seems like a lot of lurkers whom just like to be nosey

    and don't post .

Whatever hope your darts fly well for ye as mines always tend to do very well when i hit my A game that is .. but facts are when I hit my A game
I know that not one of the pros inc Taylor or Anderson would take me
    on the dart board

as a ton is a small score when im on my A game plus I always hit the dble straight away .

No Messing with me on the board when on my A game .
