Whats your dart weight? Every once in a while we ask this question on SEWA. I believe the last time it was asked it was 24g and the time before it was a 23g average. I am curious if anything has changed. So let us know what your Dart weight is.

I started with a 19g Piranhas 21g BW 22g Phils and now have settled at 24g. I have noticed I have been picking up lighter and lighter darts lately and have been enjoying throwing them. So who knows that might change again. I actually enjoyed throwing a set of 16g lately.

If you use a lighter dart do tell us the weight , similarly if you use a heavier dart.

I currently throw a 19 gm steel tip ( Unicorn Gripper II 20 gm drilled to lighten them up ) , but usually prefer a lighter dart. 15 to 16 is ideal, but I have a couple sets that I practice with at 12 grams.

    Cheers,

Do you place your finger on the point? If so does the gripper help?Anyways I shoot 21g power points, but am looking for points that I can lay my finger on and not have it slide off.A fixed point dart is in my future for sure.

22g is in the lead. Interesting.

I have used gripper points. They sort of work. I personally didnt feel any difference. But I did like that when i grabbed the dart I would immediately hold it in the same place.

Mine are actually 20.5 gm. I don't know why, but that's what they weigh. All I know is that I like them.

I have mine custom made at 21 to 21.6 No heavier and no lighter. Thems the rules. JP consistantly brings them in at 21.6

My heaviest dart is 23 and of all the darts in my collection I would expect the average to be around 22. I have a set of those Alaskan Mosquitos that are 8-grams I believe.

26g for me but I am thinking about trying out a 24g dart sometime in the near future.

I started out heavier, mostly used 24 and 25 gram darts. On a whim, I bought a set of 22 gram lightning fighters, and have been very happy ever since.

I do place my middle finger on the point and stock points in the grippers does help to an extent. Anything chrome plated is going to be pretty slick though, so I really prefer either CD points or the Puma ringed points.

A180 darts has an interesting selection of grip type points. I ordered a couple sets of each style to test, but haven't got them yet as the contents of that shipment were stolen by the postal service. Sore story that, but A180 has already shipped a replacement order and offered that if I ever manage to get my insurance money from USPS, I can send it back to A180. I've been impressed by their customer service.

If you are throwing Power Points you might look into the ACE moveable points, as they offer a version with rings cut into the point. Haven't tried them myself being a staunch fixed point supporter Smile

    Cheers,
