Hey, Everyone! Just wanted to thank everyone who participated in making this a really fun event to take part in. I'm glad there were so many people interested in this (we ended up with 2 entire divisions on top of what Andy was shooting for!!!)

We are now heading into the Playoff Week, and both the semis and finals for all divisions will be played this Thursday at the A&L Tavern (60th and Glisan). For Blue/Green/Red divisions, the format will race to 6 (best of 11 legs, only playing as many legs as needed to determine victory). The White/Yellow divisions will be playing a race to 4. Split formats of 501 and Cricket will still be used.

The starting playoff schedule is not yet known, as there are still a few makeup and rescheduled matched to be done, but here is what is known:

    Blue Division -

    (1) Allen Nutter v (4) Chris Ricci
    and
    (2) Scott Dozark v (3) Andy Campbell

    Green Division -

    (1) Jeff Lisenbee v (4) Greg Haggan
    and
    (2) Wayne Cree v (3) Randy Slipher

    Red Division -

    (1) Nils Nelson v (4)
    and
    (2) v (3)

***The current order of 2-5 place is: Warren Weaver, Clay Carney, Tom Anderson, Bill Mittelstendt. Final positioning will be determined after makeup matches. Sorry, Chris Pf.!!!

    White Division -

    (1) Tony Kim v (4) Nick Beam
    and
    (2) Troy Painter v (3) Isaac Rochester

    Yellow Division -

    (1) vs (4) Shawn Hallbrook
    and
    (2) vs (3) Adam Sorenson

Heather and Tammie will be (1) and (2). They play this week and the winner will be #1 in the standings.

So, that is where we are currently sitting, gang. I would love to see any and all participants down there if they can make it. Even if you're not playing in the playoffs, it will be a great atmosphere and a lot of fun matches to watch. Chalkers are always nice for those big games as well... And, you never know who might not be able to show up and need a replacement for these elimination rounds!!!

If I'm forgetting something that needs clarification, let me know. Myself or Andy will update this thread when we know who has won makeup matches and what the final standings look like.

Again, thanks for the great turnout and hope we can get a new singles league started around here officially of there is a continued interest in it! Very Happy

Wanted to give this a bump before tomorrow. Most of this is known now, and I've updated the original post, but some stuff we may not know until tomorrow unfortunately!!!

    Awesome night tonight, everyone!!!

I wish I had gotten to see more of the finals of other divisions, but had an great night playing.

Really looking forward to next weeks tournament, and think we will all have a seriously good time.

I am not sure on a few of the matches, and think Andy has a better record than me, so I'll let him post results. I can maybe elaborate on some of the matches (I know the scores in my division) and can possibly upload scores on the leaguerepublic site if there are scoresheets from tonight.

Thanks again for the great experience, and look forward to the tourney next week!

    =)

Correct, sir! Playoofs were all played last night and next Thursday is a tourney and the payouts and whatnot.

It has been a short season for sure, but still a ton of fun. Very Happy

All we have left is 1 night for the Singles League. Everyone played through their matches, and they went pretty fast.

In the 3 divisions of Blue , Green, and Red. We played a race to 6 for both the semis and finals. The time worked out pretty well and we were done with all before 10:00.

The White and Yellow division went with a race to 4 for both the semis and finals. It all ran fine with the final match being Tony and Isaac getting done just after 10:00.

    The results are;

Blue Division- 1st Allen Nutter 2nd Andy Campbell

Green Division- 1st Jeff Lisenbee 2nd Wayne Cree

Red Division- 1st Nils Nelson 2nd Warren Weaver

White Division- 1st Isaac Rochester 2nd Tony Kim

Yellow Division- 1st Adam Sorenson 2nd Shawn Hallbrook

Adam Smith (Thorn) showed up and got some pictures that he will be posting here later on I am sure

We finally got Angelo nailed down with the add. He is putting in $350 for the run. I will post the final payouts after they have been gone over by Isaac, Christina and myself.

Everyone commented that they had a great time with this format.

Angelo has stated that he would love to see more of these type of events and has no problem with supporting them. Maybe the PADA can make this a regular Seris into a league program.

    We shall see.

Anyway , next Thursday will be the "Payout" night , with the FREE entry A/B draw tournament for all the players as well as everyone getting their money.

This has been great fun , a nice short little seris that just bridged the summer for us crazy players that can't go for a month without playing.

I hope everyone had as much fun as I did during the time we all played.

You guys did a great job organizing and reporting on this singles league! Although I prefer playing, it always is fun to come and watch and chalk and see some of the best and up-n-coming players in town. I too didn't get see enough of all the simultaneous matches, but it was awesome chalking for one of the top division semis and part of the finals...

I'll get the story in the Thorn Report soon...

Just one comment I want to add. I left as the final match was dragging out--most people had...save a few. And, of those few, there was SOUPR, one of the best players in town, chalking--even though his matches were long over, even though he might have been little irked at taking second in his division, even though his lovely wife was waiting as well--but Ms. SOUPR is just as supportive as Mr. SOUPR when it comes to the sport of darts. And, well, I just think that is so cool that they stay and support when they can. Nice job SOUPRs'. Very Happy

Others supported as well--Isaac with the stats among other things, CO showed up to watch, and several others came to chalk or watch. Very cool.

So, now what's the deal?! Next week is a AB-BD for all of the singles league players? Or just the playoff players? Or is it open to everyone?

(Btw, I think this league/ playoff/pay-out tourney is a great great idea! And, even if it isn't open to everyone this time, maybe think of a way to make that possible next time--that would really make the pot swell!)

Sorry Adam, this A/B draw Tourney is for the all players in the Summer Singles Seris only.

I have just gone over the payouts, but I am waiting for Isaac, and Christina to go over them and make sure my 3rd grade math is correct before We post all the payouts for the Seris. I will say that with the money Angelo added from the A&L we have a pool of $1510 for payouts.
I think this is pretty cool for a total 7 week run.

What we also did with this seris was to spread the money out to as many players as possible. We believe that by paying $1 for every win makes everyone play their hardest. No way to sandbag in this format!!!

We shall have them up shortly for all to see.
Like I said before we were not able to show the final total because we had not been able to get Angelo nailed down on his add. He has been traveling all over the place this summer.

Anyway we shall be posting very soon.

I apologize for the delay in getting the tournament results posted. I have been busy, hungover and now can finally get them up here. I wanted to wait to get my pictures up at the same time, and so here we are.

I also want to thank everyone once more for making this a great event and a fantastic summer season of play. I think that the overwhelming majority thought it went well, enjoyed the structure and had a great time playing. It was fun to help run the thing and very rewarding to see the smiles on the faces of everyone there this past week.

The draw worked out as well, with a lot of good teams and good matchups. I think most of us didn't really warm up til late in the evening (if we were lucky enough to make it through to that point), and here are the teams that outlasted the rest.

    Semi-Finalists -

    Tammie and Greg

    and

    Andy and Tony

They all played very well and were just edged out by...

    2nd place -

    Alan and Troy

and the winners of it all...

    First Place

    Scotty and Clay

Thanks again, All! I'm looking forward to playing with all you guys more down the road! Very Happy [/b]

Well our Summer Singles League is now over. I was wondering if any of the people the played in this would be interested in a fall Singles League? I believe that the PADA might be interested in this , as Angelo was very happy with the summer seris, he more than wants to have one in the fall.

Anyway just wanted to thank everyone for playing and having a fun time in this short summer league.
