Is the PADA going to redo the Singles League of last summer? I think it would be a great add for the summer break!

    Thanks

No... I don't have the time to run it and there was so much lack of commitment by a few of the entrants last year that they killed it for everyone else.

    Thomas,
Doing singles in the summer is very hard. You try it on weekends and a lot of people have got every other thing going on. You do it during the week and you lose some players that work odd shifts. Maybe we try to bring it up at the next couple of singles shoots?? We gotta try before we say it failed. I think the open format of just play like a tournament not like a real league may work. Maybe we would get a bigger turnout if we did an A & B type format?? That being an A division and a B division. I believe the B players all showed up for summer singles, maybe I'm wrong Craig would know. I would be willing to help out to make it work.

I would love if there was something along those lines put together. I would love to play some competitive darts this summer, and would be willing to put in some work to see it happen as well. Very Happy

    Andy,

maybe you're right. As I figured out the level of my tourneys is a little bit to high to pull a larger group of B or C players in. But as you mentioned, a tournament layout developed for different levels might work!

I think summer weekends are not really good for those shoots, but maybe the wednesday night tourneys with a kind of a ranking splitted in A&B would be good! As I said before, if people would something up, I will play, but unfortunately I can't create and run it during the week!

    Here's a thought'
Maybe we do it with a $5 per night fee, no payout per night but a pay out finals? So it feels like leagues. Do a format with round robin if we do it on Wednesday, but have a seeded round of 16 or what ever for finals, using your point system for qualification. How about something like that??
If some one could set it up I could run it so long as I can. Since PADA does not want to get involved????(Craig???) It seems more and more we have to come up with Shoots on our OWN!!!!!............................OK CraigB let me hear it....... Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

And I bet I can get my hands on some software for tracking a singles league separate from PADA's Twisted Evil

Well there we go. If we are going to do this we need to get it up and going as soon as possible. Christina and myself are ready to run it. Being that we will have 2 brackets, A/B on ! side and B/C on the other. The only real point that could possibly come up Would we be able to get an ADD from the location or locations where we hold this. If we hold this at say A & L and Sellwood Public house, this would give us a way of holding 2 finals.. Any other ideas, lets put our heads together to get this rolling.
Thomas has already proven that this sort of seris will work , and work very well.

    Hi Andy,

Let me talk to Angelo, I'm inclined to believe that Angelo will add to the event if we run it out of A&L. I wonder if it will be easier if we all just stay at one location, that way it is consistent and we don't have to worry about "scheduling'.

Anyway, let's plan on getting together this week. I could get out tonight but Thursday will be easier for me. I play at Dr. Feelgood's in Tigard tomorrow night if you happen to be out that way.

Thursday will work ok. I guess we can just meet at the A & L. If there are any others that want to attend I don't see any reason why not. Hopefully we can iron out the kinks and have something ready for the Saturday Singles. So I will see you Thursday about 7:00 ????

LOL, I was giving you a little rib. No problem, I believe we can iron it out. I think I have come up with an abrivated verson of your singles tourney. If it ain't broke don't fix it......just tweek it a little for time restrictions.

I was thinking of round robin only for the Thursday night.
    If we go 6 to a bracket, 2 games.......about 2hrs for A/B bracket maybe a little longer. ( 1 game 501, 1 game cricket)

B/C bracket may have to go only 4 to a bracket.......about 2 hours also.

For a finals top 16 qualifiers advance to a dbl elim for both brackets

    How does that sound

We figured we could attract the most people if we broke it down into divisions.

I have also got a sheet showing the format and where the money goes with an example of breakdown.

Big thing, everyone gets a dollar back for every win. So no matter what everyone should get something back.

We also started another thread for this league

Anyone wanting more info just ask.
