Hi everybody in the Portland Dart area and who is willing to come to Portland,

As I already wrote in another topic, I want to start a tournament series for the Portland area soon. I will publish from now on all information, stats and more on my webside LINK and here in SEWA. The flyers will be available in all the dart locations in PDX and of course here in as a download.

So please - CLICK ME - to download the flyer.

This tournament series will be open to everybody! Please find some facts below!

    The series
One monthly tournament from December to June with a pointbased ranking system, payout and Jackpot for “Masters-Tournament” of the Top 8-16 players (related to overall attendee)

    1. - ENTRY - 15$ per Tournament - max. 64 player

    2. - TOURNAMENT AMOUNT - 8 ranking tournaments + MASTERS

    3. - DIRECT PAYOUT - 10$ x amount of attendees. Pot will be split in a certain percentage pattern to the Top 8 players.

    4. - MASTERS JACKPOT - 5$ x amount of attendees are going to fill the Jackpot for the MASTERS

    5. - RANKING POINTS - Certain point pattern to Top 12 of each tournament. Points will be added to the ranking points and this will give you your ranking position

    6. - MASTERS TOURNAMENT - Tournament of the TOP players after the final ranking tournament in May – (average 25 people per ranking tournament -->1000$ tournament)

    7. - LADIES JACKPOT - Each Tourney will get a bonus jackpot for ladies. 3$ per player will be splitted 50%-30%-20% to the Top 3 women of the day

    An Example

24 people with an entry of 15$ are in the tournament. The total amount of money would be 360$. 240$ we will put into the payment of the actual tournament, 120$ will be added to the Jackpot of the "MASTERS".

    1st Place ~ 30% ~ 70$ - 12 Points
    2nd Place ~ 18.5% ~ 45$ - 9 Points
    3rd place ~ 12.5% ~ 30$ - 7 Points
    4th place ~ 10.5% ~ 25$ - 5 Points
    2x5th place ~ 8.0 % ~ 20$ - 3 Points
    2x7th place ~ 6.25% ~ 15$ - 2 Points
    4x9th place – 0$ - 1 Point

If we have an average of 25 attendees after all 8 tourneys, the top 16 of the ranking would be invited to play the MASTERS for 1000$ in total, without any entry fee. If the average is higher than 25, we would have more than 1000$ and vice verca

    Tournament system

    1st Round
Below 40 Attendee --> Round Robin 2 legs 501 Double Out / Cricket - dependent on the group amount and size max. Top3 goes to Round 2

Above 40 Attendee (max 64) --> 8 Groups playing on 8 boards Double KO best of 3 - 1st on winner and 1st on loser side will go to top16 - 501 Double Out / Cricket - winner on cork decides game and starts - Final leg needs additional cork

    2nd Round
Double KO with max. 16 player - Group or Board winners (double KO boards - winner side) are seated and won't play their 2nd and 3rd place.

Match for 3rd and 4th place
Best of 5 - 501 Double Out / Cricket - alternate - winner on cork decides game and starts - legs are alternately Cricket or 501 - Final leg needs additional cork for start and game

    Final
Best of 5 - 1st of winner side needs 1 set - winner loser side 2 sets - 501 Double Out / Cricket - alternate - winner on cork decides game and starts - legs are alternately Cricket or 501 - Final leg needs additional cork for start and game

Ok, I've added all of the events to our calendar and put up a front page blurb for you. Note that I had to use a copy of your .pdf for each event in our calendar (the front page is a direct link) so if you change the flyer we'll have to delete and reenter all of the events.

    P.S., "KLICH ME??!" Shocked

I might still be snowed in. I can get out of my neighborhood with chains (and even that is an E-ticket ride), but I'm not driving that far with them on... Confused

    Hello,

so here a first report about the first shoot. Even the weather was still bad, we had 22 players showing up. 5 women have taken the opportunity to challenge the 17 men for points and money. We started at 3.30 pm and we finished the matchdart of the final found it's target at 10.40 pm. So overall we had a tournament of 7 hours. For me it was also very surprising that also 4 non league player came to the shoot and did very good. One of those, David Northern, even did a 9 count in his first cricket match of the tourney. So finally I can say that this tourney was worth the efforts what I putted in. I hope that all the players which were snowed in will make there way to the 2nd shoot and compete with our statleaders of this 1st. shoot. So here are some numbers, stats and the 1st. ranking for the MASTERS shoot.

    1st Shoot

    22 attendees
    17 men
    5 women

    Jackpotsize for MASTERS - 110$

Actual highest finish - Andy Campbell - 134
    9-count & T80 leader - Andy Campbell 2

    Ranking
    1. Andy Campbell - 12 points
    2. Wayne Cree - 9 points
    3. Jason Merrell - 7 points
    4. Scott Dozark - 5 points
    5. Will Foord - 3 points
    5. Andy M. Clark - 3 points
    7. Christian Beck - 2 points
    7. Greg Hagan - 2 points
    9. Thomas Schuesterl - 1 point
    9. Heather Merrell - 1 point
    9. Tony Kim - 1 point
    9. Dave Windell - 1 point

The 3 dollar per attendee for the women were brought from the owner of the Sellwood Public House - THANKS PAUL - and went to the Top 3 women. 30$ - Heather Merril, 20$ - Tamy Campbell, 15$ - Hall Julene.

At this point I want to appologize to the 5 ladies for the confusion because of the pay out. I will work on a fair and better solution for the next tourney!!!

The second shoot will be on Saturday the 24th of January. As I figured out this time, I will move the start of sign up to 1.00 pm and the start of the tourney to 2.00 pm.

More information you can get if you send me a PM or email!

    Cheers

    Thomas

    Hello,

so here is the report about the second shoot. Again 22 players shown up in total. This time we had the honor to welcome 4 ladies, who were not scared to fight those 18 men. We finished the complete tourney after 6 hours. The to final players, Andy and Wayne decided to split the money and leave the max. points at the winner of the winners bracket. So Andy Campbell could extend his top position of the series to 24 points. I was hoping that some of the excellent steel darters (CraigB, Thorn, Allen N. etc.) would have shown up this time, but I'm confident that they will, as soon as they get the same good feedback I got so far. So here are some numbers, stats and the 2nd ranking for the MASTERS shoot.

    2nd Shoot

    22 attendees
    18 men
    4 women

    Jackpotsize for MASTERS - 220$

Actual highest finish - Andy Campbell - 134
    9-count & T80 leader - Andy Campbell 3

    Ranking
    1. Andy Campbell - 24 points
    2. Wayne Cree - 18 points
    3. Jason Merrell - 14 points
    4. Scott Dozark - 8 points
    5. Greg Lunday - 5 points
    6. Randy Slypher - 3 points
    6. Will Foord - 3 points
    6. Andy M. Clark - 3 points
    6. Thomas Schuesterl - 3 points
    11. Christian Beck - 2 points
    11. Greg Hagan - 2 points
    11. Phil Kindschuh - 2 points
    14. Ian Griffith - 1 point
    14. Heather Merrell - 1 point
    14. Tony Kim - 1 point
    14. Dave Windell - 1 point
    14. Bud Elzea - 1 point
    14. Tamy Campbell - 1 point

The 3 dollar per attendee for the women were brought from the owner of the A&L - THANKS ANGELO - and went to the Top 3 women. They decided to split it in 3 equal parts of 22 Dollar. Congrats for this to Kathy Collins, Tamy Campbell and Julene Hall.

I guess this was the better way for the ladies!!!

The third shoot will be on Saturday the 21st of Febuary. As I figured out this time, I will move the start of sign up to 1.30 pm and the start of the tourney to 2.30 pm.

Please note that this series is just in the beginning and everybody can still make it to the top 16!!!

More information you can get if you send me a PM or email!

    Cheers

    Thomas

Actually, I was busy with darts all day Saturday (since 7:30am actually). Then I took a "break" to pick up over 200 roof shingles that my neighbors were nice enough to send my way during the last storm before the snow started again. Sunday was a repeat with about 14 hours spent on darts. Of course, I didn't get to throw any darts during the weekend, all that time was spent with getting Spring season teams organized, schedules created and most of the printing for the Captain's packets done... I still have at least eight more hours to go!

SOMEDAY I'd love to go back to throwing darts... Confused Rolling Eyes

Good to see you're getting a decent turnout!

I guess I'm gonna have to dust off the darts and get my butt to the Sellwood Public House, wherever that is, in February.

    Hello Bobcat,

I guess I don't know you, but I would appreciate if you show up!

    Cheers

    Thomas

For all those who thinks 15 Dollar are too much. With the 3 bugs of the bar, we had 11 player in the money. So that means that every 2nd player got at least the money back! I think it's worth to give it a try!

Google is your friend, I'm sure you'll find your way there Bob!

Plus, if you made last year's Oregon Open coming from as far away as you did, then you shouldn't have any reason not to this year! We've addressed every concern that people had from last year's event so if they're not happy THIS time, I quit! Razz

    Hi Thomas,

I just moved to Oregon from Boston. I'm a bit closer now so I plan to be there. Looks like fun!

    Hey Craig,

If you took care of all the concerns, does that mean that Chris White won't be there? He was my biggest concern in the 501 Singles. Ah, but how things change in a year!! I plan to make the Oregon Open too!

    Hi Christina,

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone - again. But I'll need a refresher before I take the name quiz.
