I prosume many people out there have noticed this when they buy their flights. The Unicorn Standard/Plus is slightly different then other Standards. Along those lines some of the Dartworld standards are also different.
    Unicorn

    Easier to see Normal Standard

as compared ot the flight I use

The 3 main points are a)the rounded edges b) wing angled sharper to the front c) The wing itself has a smaller wing tip to wingtip width.
This has always been a pain for me. As I notice a definite difference between the 2 as how they effect the way my dart lands. This in turn severely limits my dart flight choices and even worse it excludes the SEWA flight which I would love to use exclusively.

I was wondering if anyone even notices this. I believe digger and DoubleTrouble both cut down their standards to something similar to the flight I use.

I hope no one notices this as then I can lobby Erik to make SEWA Standards that Odd size LOL.

Not really sure what to vote on this. Yes I know there is a difference, I've seen it. But how much of a difference it would make I have no idea. I've never actually thrown the Unicorn flights, I kept the ones that came with my latinums just for my collection, not to use.

    **Edit**
Maybe I'll cut down a few old sets I have here and see if I can notice any difference...what's the best way to do it?

    Cheers,
    Mark

Three off the top of my head

    1. The standard "Standard".

    2. The Dimplex Standard shape.

    3. Unicorn Standard shape, they are not as tall as a standard "Standard" so if fits in a slick stick, and it's shaped just a little different.

Yet another standard variation. Nice point out Agent.

They all throw in their unique fashion for me.
Simple scissors for cut down will work to try out.

I've seen some pearl flights over here that are slightly larger than standard.

BTW the Unicorn Latinum Flights are indeed the Unicorn Smaller Standard. Not all Unicorns are cut that way. Some are still the full sized.
The biggest difference I notice is that my flight lands perfectly horizontal/slightly flight high as compared with flight high and more with the full standards. Which makes complete sense with the added surface drag.

Do they . . . "They" still make the DMI spinning flight. I thought it was a good system, but all their flights were over-sized. I had to used teardrops insted of the standard shape.

That's a good point to . . . (Let me pat myself on the back) . . . I think the Dyna-Star is a bit smaller than the "Standard", Standard shape.

At one time someone was making a standard shape the same size of the dimplex stand shape without the dimples. I think maybe Dart-World had a hand in it. I liked the shape, but at the time I was in a place where I couldn't use Dart-World stuff.

I have noticed the different sizes in standard flight....as far as how it affects your dart well thats up to you and your throw.....

Haven't used standard flights in many years. I used to notice the difference between pears and teardrops. And no, they aren't the same. Similar, but not the same. I've had that argument before.

I noticed that they are different in size, but I think, not as much as to affect my throw Confused
