Feeling better today and after hitting 42 in 50@bulls I shot some 100@20's and hit a 133. Started with 45, then hit 35, 36, 17 with a 180 in the mix.

Wasn't thrilled that I dropped so many in the middle 60 darts but was happy with the 45 in the 1st 30 and the 17 at the end (where the 180 was)...

Still thinking I can break 140, just a matter of time.

Had a good night at darts tonight, threw a 9 mark in cricket, a 180 in 01, and just generally played pretty well, so thought Id throw some more when I got home.

Threw a 138 to set a new high, which should have been more but threw 2 rounds of 1 near the end..

However when I should have been in bed I decided on 1 more..

    142! Finally cracked the 140's.

    1st 30 - 41
    2nd 30 - 47 with a 180
    3rd 30 - 41
    Tail - 13

Pretty happy with that effort, 150 is just around the corner!

Nice! I'll be joining you there soon. I figure I'll break 150 pretty soon too since I have hit 55 in 30 already. At least that's my thinking.

Nice to see the darts coming together

Congrats! It's very satisfying inputing the new records, isn't it? Smile I don't think I've had a new one in over a month despite a ridiculous number of close calls. I'll remedy that soon.

I played a quick one (very little warmup and no darts thrown since the Oregon Open blind draw).

I keep track by 11 turns/33 darts (then toss one dart).

My first 33 was a total of 18(!) with either one or two S20's per turn.

My second 33 I had past the previous total after ten darts, three 140's and four 100's for a total of 50.

My last 33 was another pathetic total of 21.

And... I missed the last dart completely. So 89 total. Only 58 off my best. *Sigh...*

On all these games I'm just never consistent enough over the entire game so I'm still a Green belt! It's funny just how many of the guys with belts above me I used to beat on a regular basis though (I've never practiced as well as I play for real - go figure! Rolling Eyes ).

Even accounting for the fact folks have been hitting their records over years, so there's really no way to know when they were at their peak, practice is practice and matches are matches.

I think one's "belt" is less indicative of their likelihood to win a match than their recent scoring average (straight ppr via N01 or otherwise). And neither tells you what they throw like in competition.

That doesn't take anything away from this format as a good practice method. But I mix it with N01 and am interested in increasing my high-point and typical averages...and get more of a gauge of my progress from that than these records.

I look at it this way:

My potential when I 'flip that switch' as Darci puts it is far beyond what my practice scores show. It's a proven thing as I won my share again those with higher scores/rankings etc....on the other hand, my 'cruise' mode is what you see there. I can comfortable cruise along hitting around that 120-130 mark and can do that pretty much all day until I 'flip that switch'.

I've seen Craig flip the switch and I'll be dammed if he was going to lose to anyone. That's the beauty of this game Smile

    Well crap.

I am inconsistent as all heck today. I can hit 180's and hit 6 today but I can hit 0 when shooting 100@20's too.

Heck one round I counted all the T5's I hit on the side and had those been T20's I'd have easily hit 150+ Shocked but finished in the 120's...best I did today with TWO 180's and a bunch of 140's was a 133....but it wasn't uncommon to hit 180, 140, 121, 100, 45, 30, 55, 140, 125 and start a run of ones and two's in the 20's or just do something like hit 6, hit 0, hit 6, hit 1, hit 7, hit 1 and so on. Little frustrating to say the least.

Well, FWIW, I'll state the obvious. You can't get less than 3 unless your L/R accuracy fails. When I'm hitting a lot of 5s my arm isn't all the way upright.

    YMMV.

I've also recently started throwing at the small 20 slice (under T20) for L/R practice. Very unforgiving and I find it forces my arm position to be very good.

In a couple recent attempts I hit 114 and 108 so not up to my standard before the shoulder injury. In those attempts I missed 27% and 29% on the 20's!

Hit a 118 and again had sporadic consistency. hit a 180 (4th or 5th today) followed by a 140 so I should have done well in that run but alas, I dropped out of the 20's a bit and when I got back it wasn't enough to keep going...I did get to 80 in 21 throws though but only shot 38 more in the next 13 1/3 throws.

Craig I gave your 19's a toss and hit 124. I'm ok with that right now Smile But may try it again soon. I haven't thrown that many darts at the 19 in a long long time!
