I guess this would be the same in pretty much any league anywhere. Dealing with different people and their personalities can be a real pain sometimes. This person doesn't want to be partnered with this person. This person doesn't like playing on this board, or "I don't like 501". "I don't want to play at that bar. It's too far/ I don't like their boards/food/drink selection". I could go on an on.

I love playing darts. I don't care if it's a long drive, a crappy bar, or a place with fewer boards so we have to wait until a match is finished to play the next one. A bad day of darts in a crappy bar is better than a great day at work.

It can be stressful though. I'm one of those people who want everyone to be happy and have a good time. Most of the time I spend so much time stressing to make sure the team is happy that I can't concentrate on my own game and I feel like my darts struggle because of it. I know it's just part of the territory, and it is what it is.

Does anyone else have these issues sometimes? After a while, it gets to where it's not fun anymore.

Went through this as a capt 12 yrs ago. Great bunch but 1 or 2 who always had a fuss.

It is never easy. Fortunately my present team has the "team first" mentality. The big issue here is getting people to show up on time..

Being a captain sucks. The answer sadly, however is that team darts suck. I have now been both the frustrated captain and frustrated player.
The so called team first mentality really just leads to players bring relegated usually very early on on the season as far as when they shoot the quality of player they shoot against and who you are partnered with. This means some people get better oportunities to show what they can do and some have to spend their night being the guy (but usually gal ) who needs to "sit this round".
Having a team at all around the same skill level helps. Having a team that really enjoys being together and are there for the same thing (I.E. to win or "just have fun") and of course having as many singles games as possible helps.
