Started throwing some 50@bulls today and hit a 35. Not quite the 40 I did years ago but feel I can improve on it Smile

Figured this would be a good practice for my soft tip game.

Biggest issue I have lately is a way to score this since I normally do it in my head (I'm in my office)....might have to rig up a score board or something

For this and the other X@ type games I always keep it in my head by mentally saying the turn and the score. So, for example, 1, 0 then 2, 0 and 3, 1 (if "I'm" shooting at bulls! Laughing ). 1, 5 then 2, 12 and 3, 16 if I'm shooting at 19's.

For the 50@ games I simply don't throw the third dart of the 17th turn and, for the 100@ games, I just throw one extra dart after the 33rd turn.

Pretty much the only game I need to use a scoreboard for is Blackie's and, sometimes, I'll use one for Catch 40.

Ack! I hit a 40 should have been well into the 40's but I missed a couple rounds and darn near beat myself! ha!

Still, that tells me I can break that old score just like I KNOW I'll break my CCU score

OK back at this one again with a new system (because I found I'd go like this: 3 in one, 8 in two, 10 in 3, 15 in 4, 16 in 5, 16 in 16, 17, in 17, 22 in 18....and then realize I mized up the two numbers and jumped ahead and cost myself a good chance at upping my high! DARNIT. I was sitting at 10 in two, then 15 in 5 and then next I was saying 16 in 9 or something like that (phone rang)....then I did it again and I KNOW I was on my way to 42+....

So I switch to writing down in groups like this

    1 1 3 2
    1 2 1 2
    3 5 2 2
    1 3 2 2
    0
    For 32

Makes it easier to keep track when I am though now I have to get used to carrying a pen again while tossing....but this seems to be working and I don't have to think about wear I am or how much I've shot.

and I HATE seeing 0's on the board so I try harder lol

After tearing my bursa in my right shoulder I'm back to practicing again and hit a 37 today. that's with FOUR, count them, FOUR, zero's in there. Sheesh, I could easily have broken 40 but didn't.

I'll keep at it. Had some good runs for 16 to 21 darts and then drop, and come back.

I have an excel spreadsheet I score on. I log my result each turn. But I'm used to that from N01.

No way I'd be sure what I'd done otherwise. I guess you guys have MUCH better memories than I do.

I write down on the board next to my dartboard as I go now because sometimes I'd forget where I was (was that 12 in 13 or 13 in 12?) otherwise I have an exceptional memory and can still remember matches from 20 years ago and more Very Happy

LOL mostly the good ones Wink

Off the pace today with only half the bulls I normally shoot. Just doesn't feel right and fighting a 'pause' after the drawback -- I refuse to except it might be Dartitis!

Weird though, just not as fluid as I was a few weeks ago but hoping some competition will rectify this!

I hope not....that's a nasty disease. Seems most of the guys I play with have battled it or are still battling it. I had a bad bout about 4 years ago when I was about 1 year after starting. Had to reinvent my throw to work around the problem.

Let's just assume it's something else. Might be good to give it a rest for a week or two so you can start fresh?

Fortunately I was able to overcome it and won a small luck despite my rating in a pool of much lower players (so I was giving up 192-210 points in every match in 501 except one and 13-14 marks in cricket) but the shoulder was more of a problem with the bursitis killing me.

Still, managed to come out ok and will take a break for a few days and see how it goes.

Gave this a couple of cracks today and went pretty well.

Threw a new high of 40.

Had one round where I was on 32 after 30 darts, choked and ended with 36 lol.

Finished the night with another new high of 42.

Nice shooting! I've taken a week off with all most tournaments and league playoffs having wrapped up. You're getting me fired up to see if I can get some new records.

I've struggled of late to even get into the 30's (I am but not often) which is odd. On the otherhand I'm hitting doubles and 20's better.

I went from 38 to 48 with nothing in between. Since then I haven't tried 50 bulls again since as there are lower hanging fruit. (CCU and both doubles games).

Truth is, that's why I like all the games. Gives you a change of pace.

If I'm fighting the bull I can move to something else and shoot it instead

Shot a few rounds today but couldn't put 6 darts in a decent string let alone 50 so only managed a 31 today and a few high 20's. It's a struggle some days!

The arm was feelinig better so I tossed some today. Hit this in 50@bulls
    3,2,0,0,4,1,1,2,4,2,3,5,2,5,3,3,2 = 42

Tossed 15 more to see how it would go and hit 1,1,3,0 which would maintain the 42 if I dropped the 1st 12 darts.

Happy with that but know I can do better.

    Arm feels ok today too.

Hitting in the high 20's and low 30's today but after practice one of my guys came into the office so naturally while talking work I picked up my darts and stuck 3 in the double bull Smile Felt good. Too bad it wasn't during a 50@bulls attempt!

Hit 22 on the pro trainer today Smile Not bad I think. Was tossing well and suspect a reg sized bull would have produced a lot more as I was often just outside the smaller bull
