Well, you can't go all the way around until you've gone at least half-way, right? Wink

    I love this game!
Today I decided to do something different. I used the Black belt rules and shot doubles from D16 to D1, D20 to D5, and D12 to D3.

No problem. I managed to finish these progressions in less than 15 minutes using the Black belt rules.

After plugging away at the Black belt game for so many times and not getting very far, changing it up to a short format made things seem so much easier. I had tons of confidence feeling I could shoot through the above doubles using the black belt rules.

In addition, after shooting the black belt game for 20 or 25 minutes in my practice sessions, I find my concentration and intensity level really high. This game really does get get me going!

Thanks General Part for showing us a game that really does help focus, intensity, and confidence!

With the twist of a double in every round, This will take some time to finish.

I have tried this many times now, I got soo close 1 time.............but could not hit a double bull with my last 3darts.......................start all over, but not even close after that. Just got too frustraiting.

I will do it, just gotta play more of this silly game.

I am bumping this thread for a few reasons:

    1) I miss John Part

    2) there are a lot of new great shooters on SEWA who might not know about the Black Belt achievement.

    3) there are a lot of new people on SEWA who don't know how much John did for us, taught us, and posted in times gone by - instruction, encouragement and humour.

    4) there are other people in this thread that I like reminiscing about, seeing their old posts, like Ramses and String, who I would like to have back posting regularly, and John of course, and Bob Anderson most definitely - notice Grey Owl is on back then, he took a leave of absence for a long while... Drac0, CyberNinja... I could go on for a while....

First John, my better half just loves you and can't wait to see you back on the main stage at the TV tourneys. Congrats on your qualifying for the UK Open.
I have been trying that doubles practice routine and I had to alter it slightly. When I miss I go down one number. I keep a practice journal and I've noticed my misses (%-age wise) at certain numbers and areas of the board. To me the key is not necessarily to complete the board but observe weaknesses on the board and correct them through practice. I try to get that through my mates when I'm practicing that I'm not trying to win. That will come in a match. In practice, I'm trying to get better.

wow this is funny I have been using that very routine as a warm up from the beginning I thought I created it, it was a way for me to practice my doubles and be penalized for not hitting them, yes it adds pressure the further into it you go my best to date was 18, then the pressure hit I had d19,db20 and db to go and choked lol I still do it just not as much anymore. but still start with it as a warm up
