    Southern Ontario Cricket Shootout:
Well, with only 16 players attending (20 paid), the day went off without a hitch.
Two sections of 8 were set up, top 4 from each section moving on to the knockout rounds. Section “A” seen the likes of Steven Wilcox, Steve Warnock and Judy Smith and Ian Fogarty amoungst others. Battles were close, Steve Warnock dominated the A side fairly easily, but with Ian givinghim the hardest push, and Steven forcing a third game. High pointing games were the specialty of the day, seing many games going over the 500 point mark. Steven Wilcox Derek and Gord all played great, and ended the RR with a tie for the final spot to knockout rounds, forcing a 701 playoff... With all players shooting for that spot, the nerves started, and with each player on a finish , it was anyones game. With each having a shot but missing thier first chance at a double, Gord eventually took X9 to advance, sending Steven and Derek tot he consolation rounds.
On Side “B”, we had players like Adam Sinneve, Jamie Hind Edwin Martin and Brad Boylan. Jamie started off great, eliminating players with fair ease. Many near nine marks kept him pumping hard. Brad took on the youngster Adam, and got flustered by the son of Canadian Champ Bob Sinneve, (Apple dont fall far from the tree there!) in other matches Edwin marting fought hard, pointed heavily and slowly made his way to second in RR. Gus Collins played well, moving on into the knockout rounds also.
Knockouts were a blessing for anyone watching, 9 marks, high pointing and tough matches. Ian Took on Steve, fought hard only to be sent home way to early. Ben played even harder only to pack up and be sent hiking by Jamie, Edwin and Gus played great, each fighting for a Finals spot..Edwin got the best of Gud, and sent him packing. Steve and Jamie played imho the best matches of the day, with steve coming out hard and fast scoring NO points, and hitting triples like they were balloons. Second game seen Jamie fight even harder, pointing and pounding bulls for the win, Jamie Finally finished off Steve on the last game with a DB, To send Steve back to St.Catherines.
The Finals were a pleasure to watch, as Edwin came in fast, but Jamie was now on a great roll, playing his best games in a long while... Jamie took the title with a score of 4-1, but that score does not reflect the quality of the games.
Truly a pleasure watching ALL these matches today.

The consolation round seen all the non knockout players go head to head 2/3, withagain a hard fought battle, seing as we were only paying out the top two, we ended up with 3 players tied for First...Steven Wilcox, Wayne and derek.... Tough playoff, but Wayne dominated with multiple ton+ marks to take First ( a payback to Steven, as in the RR steven Took both games easily from Wayne), and missed X18's for steven cost him the second place posistion as derek took X3 to end the event.

As this was a Qualifier for the King Of The Hill Cricket Finals in Toronto later this month, included in the payouts we were offering Finals Tickets to the top 4 (IF WE HAD 32 PLAYERS AS ADVERTISED ON THE FLIER), seing as only 16 showed up, We could only offer 2, SO Attending the KOTH cricket finals are Jamie Hind and Edwin Martin.
Also as a Special incentive and as a fund raiser for my youth league, we raffled off a single Finals ticket, the winner, Ben, Was more then pleased to get it.. and is looking forward to playing the best cricket playrs this provience has to offer.

Puma Darts donated sets of darts which were also raffled off, Wayne took set one and a spectator got the other set, our 50/50 draw again seen Wayne win that, So a good day for wayne thats for sure.

Id like to thank everyone that did comeout and show what real cricket games are like, and to the legion for allowing us the room.
