From an article posted on the sewa-darts.com home page:

    I was banned….
I asked to talk to the PDC Europe board but was told all were too busy.

Not really sure what to think about this situation... does being a journalist get you banned even if you are a player's guest?

Interested to hear some plausible explanation for any PDC officials.

    Whoa.

    I have two replies...Wink

    Reply #1:

Huh, how weird. With the limited info it sounds like some odd factors added up in some idiot security guy's brain and made him think you were somehow sneaking around or something. Power tripper probably. Total bummer though!

    Reply #2:

Way to go Charis!!!!!! Wow, you actually got kicked out of a major tourney for your awesome darts reporting skills!!! On the last day too! How Cool IS THAT?!?!???? Yeeehoooo. I love it. What a story! You are so awesome, keep up the good work! By the way, to do a some Deautschland-image damage control, I just spent two weeks meeting some wonderful new friends from Germany, all amazingly wonderful people...and they even played darts with me on the boat...like these two Berliners...

    Very Happy Laughing Very Happy

Now, back to being angry. Let's all write a bunch of crazy emails to those tourney directors and that knucklehead, das dumbkopf wo hat einen kleinen Hund und gross dick lederhosen!!! Wink

    Viva la Charis!

(My German is better than ever, ja?)

There probably isn't a good explanation. It doesn't sound like Charis did anything to deserve being legitimately banned, so the first thing I would NOT rule out is simple miscommunication ... or a lack of communication. Or maybe that's two things.

Anyway, I wouldn't be suprised if a power-hungry security just overheard that Charis is a reporter, made the assumption that she shouldn't be there, and booted her without checking into the situation.

Hope that you have the right theory about this... If you are a player's guest you should be treated with a large measure of respect.

I agree. And if I am right, someone owes Charis - and her host - an apology. Embarassed
