Wanted to give a big thanks for all the work that the new PADA management team did on the standards and lights. All the standards were newly painted with a soft grey paint that greatly cut down on the glare. All new lights were installed, making every board look the same. Plus, a barrier between each standard was installed. Before, the lights from the other side of the standard would shine in your eyes.

For me, the biggest challenge at the Oregon Open had always been the poor light conditions - especially the glaring lights from the other side. A 100% improvement.

    Wonderful job guys!

    Thanks, Fletcher.

In addition to the board members, Alexa Todd, Alex Lindsay, Robert Wolfe, Rich Patterson and Randy Slipher all deserve thanks for their help repainting the backboards and standards. Rich Patterson deserves double thanks for being the one to step up and construct and insert the light-blocking system.

What was the light blocking system? Was that new this year?

I've helped set up the standards for the last three years and didn't notice anything different this year during set up. I know I'm ignorant, but what did I miss?

I believe this was done with pieces of paper going across the gap between backboards.

This is exactly what it was. Rich Patterson deserves the credit for this, and he did it Friday evening and put them up Saturday morning... I think. That weekend is still sort of a blur. You're not crazy, JP. He snuck 'em in there, but did a great job with it!
