How did an event called "Maui Waui" wind up in New Jersey??! Shocked

Shouldn't that be held in Hawaii? Cool

Cool Well, the origin of the Maui Waui goes back several years and has nothing to do with Hawaii. It was started by a local dart player and after his death, continued for a couple of years as a charity event where we raised some money (about 30k) as a college fund for his 2 boys. We took a hiatus last year and have revived the name as one of two tournaments we have planned for this year. The other being the Garden State Open. Look for that in the September/October timeframe.

Bummer- due to a scheduling conflict, I can't make it on Saturday at all.

I'll be there on Sunday, though. Can I still register for men's singles 501 on Sunday?

How early do you have to be there...?

Sign up ends 15 minutes prior to the event so I would at least be there a half hour before the event time. You can play in as many or as little events as you want. You don't have to play in one in order to play in another. You can come and play just 1 event if you want to all weekend or play them all. Hope to see you there on Sunday. Look for me! I love meeting new Sewa members and putting the names with the faces. I am leaving Friday morning and can't wait! Should be a great time.

Cool Peg, it was nice seeing you again. You have to send me some of those pics of 5B and JD.

Hoopie, it was a pleasure to meet you too! Hope to catch up with you at other tourneys.

Boddington_Paul made the scene and was chatting it up with some other Sewarians who were passing the time with some Bob's 27 between matches. Perhaps Paul you could fill in their names as they escape me.

We had a nice turnout for the tournament and Miller Lite kicked in some nice prizes besides the monetary backing they provided. As usual, when I am also running the event, my darts were crap but I had a lot of fun anyway.

Dave should have the full results up shortly. Thanks to all who came out, Miller Lite and The Ringside Pub for allowing us to run the event there.

Hope to catch up with you all again at the US Open.

It was nice to meet you as well mreetome and I look forward to seeing you in the future and having a chat as well. You were helping to run things so it was difficult to find time to chat. Maybe I will see you there this weekend at the Grateful Darts Tournament.
