Today I set my phone up and recorded my throw for the first time ever. I have been playing for over 30 years. Never asked for critique of my stroke. watched myself for the first time ever. Now I know why MLB has batting coaches. Not having a pro critique my stroke will go down as the biggest regret of my darts life.

Truth is a person can get very good at something without any coaching but, coaching helps to speed the process a bit. Video instruction however can be both a blessing and a curse. I had a fellow golfer who would videotape every practice session and then spend hours pausing rewinding slow motion etc. Eventually he could not flip the switch and just play. He played worse when he finally gave up than he was about half way in to the process. Paralysis by analysis.
