Darts on the Radio

During the PDC World Championship in the press marquee in Alexandra Palace you can always find a young man sitting in a shielded corner. Usually he�s already there when I come and he�s still there when I leave though I am always one of the last to leave.
He�s called the �radio man� and it looks he�s sometimes commentating matches live. From time to time he does an interview with some of the players.

Sealed with a Kist

Christian Kist 7 � 5 Tony O�Shea

Dutch road worker Christian Kist completed a remarkable journey from rank outsider to World Champion by defeating Tony O�Shea in the Lakeside final.

Kist was ranked 106th in the world before the tournament and had defied the odds just to qualify. The Lipstick performed fabulously all week to become a worthy winner of the title.

Hello from across the pond

Ayup Comrades Im a newbie on here, and would like to introduce myself. My user name is ShedInn Shed will do, I play my darts in my shed at the top of the garden, I'm a truck driver and work thru the night so darts is my R&R. Willie O�Connor Joins Winmau on a 3 Year Contract

Winmau and their Irish distributor Daricia are delighted to announce the signing of one of the biggest names in Irish darts - Willie O�Connor. Willie, currently playing on the PDC Pro Tour, will work closely with Winmau to promote his use of the 22g Winmau 90% tungsten Testament darts in the Irish market.

A German-Scottish co-operation

When I don�t sit in Alexandra Palace � that�s in the moment between 10 and 17, I behave like a �normal� tourist. Not always I want to go into town � before Christmas it is like hell�s broken loose. Sometimes I seek for a quiet place and that one can find on Muswell Hill.

One of my walks brought me to a Pub which was called �Baird�. Contrary to John Gwynne, the Sky commentator the name meant nothing to me, but John seems to know more or less anything anyway�

My second day in London brought a full day of darts in the Ally Pally with an afternoon and an evening session � I really had to recover from it�
The afternoon session was quite entertaining with an really good performance by Jelle Klaasen, a convincing player from the Philippines, a surprising defeat from Ronnie Baxter against Steve Farmer (might be he was irritated because the walk-on girls were to late to accompany him on stage), a Robert Thornton who seems finally to be recovered from his pneumonia and a not really easy win for Alan Tabern.

Globaldarts this year again traveled to London to have a look at the PDC World Championship. I hope that this year not again the snow will be a problem and that I will be home in time for Christmas. Though �in time� can be interpreted differently. Last year I just managed to arrive at home on the 23. December at around eight o�clock in the evening.
So � I plan to be home on the 21. and hope it really will happen.

New Year Starts with Lancashire Festival of Darts!

Saturday 21st January and Sunday 22nd January 2012 plays host to a feast of darts in Lancashire! The Lancashire Festival of Darts in Association with Winmau takes place in Fleetwood and there is £8,000 on offer over the weekend.
